Meet the Team

Ryan DaGenais

Founder

Ryan Dagenais founded Unity Dance Works with a simple goal: to create a place where dancers feel welcomed, challenged, and excited to learn.

For more than 10 years, Ryan has been teaching and inspiring dancers through his passion for movement, performance, and community. Known for his positive energy and approachable teaching style, he has a unique ability to make every dancer - from beginners to competitive performers - feel confident and capable.

Ryan believes that great dance training goes beyond technique. It's about building confidence, developing discipline, creating friendships, and helping students discover what they're capable of. His favourite part of teaching is watching his dancers grow - not just in the studio, but in life.

Whether he's leading a class, preparing students for competition, or cheering them on from the audience, Ryan is always in his dancers' corner. His dedication, organization, and genuine care for his students have made him a trusted mentor and a beloved member of the local dance community.

Miss Tristan

Teacher

Miss Tristan began dancing at the age of three and has been passionate about the art ever since. Throughout her dance career, Miss Tristan participated in numerous competitions, recitals, and performances, earning awards and recognition for her dedication, creativity, and artistry. Her extensive training across multiple dance styles has provided her with a strong technical foundation and a deep appreciation for dance as both an art form and a means of connection.

Miss Tristan attended the specialized dance program at Canterbury High School, where she was challenged to grow as an artist through creation, performance and collaboration with live musicians and visual artists, performing pieces inspired by live music and live-painted artwork. She also gained valuable choreographic experience by creating and presenting her own dance productions, taking responsibility for music selection, costume design, auditions, rehearsals, and final performances.

Miss Tristan has trained extensively in a variety of dance styles. She also spent seven years teaching dancers of all ages, helping students build confidence, technique, and a love for movement. After taking time away from dance to pursue her education at Algonquin College and Carleton University, and to focus on her professional career, she is excited to return to what has always felt like homeβ€”dance. She looks forward to sharing her love for dance as more than movement but a place of growth, community and joy, while fostering students' confidence, discipline and lifelong love of the art.
